Home Cleaning FAQs

Got a question before you book? Here are the ones I’m asked most. If yours isn’t here, call or text me on 0494 815 573. I’m always happy to chat.

About My Cleaning Service

Who will be cleaning my home?

Me, Chelsea. Maitland Home Cleaning Services is owner-operated, so the person who quotes your clean is the person who does it. You won’t get a different stranger every visit, and I get to know your home and how you like things done.

Where are you based, and which areas do you service?

I’m based in Greta and clean homes across Maitland, East Maitland, Rutherford, Aberglasslyn, Lochinvar, Greta, Branxton, North Rothbury, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri and Singleton. If you’re nearby and not sure whether I come to you, just ask.

What types of cleaning do you offer?

Regular cleans (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), one-off cleans (a spring clean, before guests, or any time your home needs a reset), and end of lease cleans for tenants, landlords and property managers.

Do I need to be home while you clean?

No. Plenty of my clients leave a key or lockbox code and head off for the day. Whatever suits you is fine, and I treat your home and belongings with the same care either way.

Do you bring your own cleaning products and equipment?

Yes, I bring everything I need. If you have products you prefer, or surfaces that need special care (like natural stone), just let me know.

Are your products safe for kids and pets?

Yes. Surfaces are wiped and rinsed as I go, so they’re safe once dry. If anyone in your home has allergies or sensitivities, let me know when you book.

Are you insured and police checked?

Yes. I hold public liability insurance and have a current police check, so you can book with peace of mind.

Pricing & Booking

How much does a clean cost?

Every home is different, so I quote based on the size of your home, the number of bathrooms, its current condition and what you’d like done. Call or text me on 0494 815 573 for a free, no-obligation quote.

How do I book?

Call or text 0494 815 573, email info@maitlandhomecleaningservices.com.au, or fill in the form on my contact page. Let me know your suburb, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, how often you’d like a clean, and anything you’d like me to focus on.

How far ahead should I book?

For regular cleans, as early as you can, since ongoing spots fill up. For end of lease cleans, aim for at least a week before your final inspection, especially around the end of the month.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

No problem. Just give me at least 24 hours’ notice and I’ll happily move your clean.

How do I pay?

Direct deposit or cash, whichever suits you.

Regular & One-Off Cleaning

What’s included in a standard clean?

Bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms and living areas: dusting, wiping benches and surfaces, cleaning sinks, taps, toilets, showers and mirrors, and vacuuming and mopping the floors. Your quote will list exactly what’s included, and I’m happy to adjust it to your priorities.

What’s the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?

A regular clean keeps on top of everyday dust and mess. A deep clean goes further: built-up grime, soap scum, skirting boards, inside the oven and the spots that don’t get attention every week. If your home hasn’t been professionally cleaned in a while, I usually suggest a deep clean first, then regular visits to keep it that way.

Should I choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly?

Busy households with kids or pets usually find weekly or fortnightly works best. If you keep on top of things yourself and just want help with the bigger jobs, monthly is a good fit. We can always change it later.

Do I need to tidy up before you arrive?

You don’t need to clean, but clearing clutter off benches and floors means I can spend all your booked time cleaning rather than tidying.

End of Lease Cleaning

What’s included in an end of lease clean?

A thorough top-to-bottom clean of the empty property, including inside the oven, cupboards and drawers, bathrooms and grout, skirting boards, light switches, internal windows, window sills and tracks, and floors. If your real estate agent has given you a vacate checklist, send it through when you book and I’ll work to it.

Is carpet steam cleaning included?

It can be. Just ask when you book and I’ll add it to your quote. Check your lease too: if you’ve had pets, your agreement may require professional carpet cleaning.

What if the agent finds something I missed?

Send me the agent’s list within 72 hours of your clean and I’ll come back and fix any cleaning items I’ve missed, free of charge.

Can you guarantee I’ll get my bond back?

No cleaner can guarantee your full bond. Deductions can also be for rent, damage or other items that have nothing to do with cleaning. What I can promise is a thorough clean, plus a free re-clean within 72 hours if your agent flags anything I’ve missed.

Does the power and water need to be on?

Yes, please keep the electricity and water connected until the clean is finished.

Should the property be empty?

Ideally, yes. Book your clean for after the removalists have finished so I can get into cupboards, wardrobes and the floors underneath your furniture.

Do you clean for landlords and property managers?

Yes. I’m happy to clean between tenants to get a property ready for the next occupants.
